The Ayurvedic Psychology

The knowledge of the Ayurvedic psychology provides us with several tools in regards to the approach of the various constitutions, and consequently helps us establish better relationships with our loved ones, with our friends and with people who are inevitably in contact.

Understanding the psychology and the profile of each type of constitution is the key to harmonious relationships. Looking at the psychological characteristics, the mental and emotional consequences of various Dosha, we understand that we are all different and that the same method does not apply to all.

The key to have harmonious relationships with others is the report that we are able to establish with the person in front of us. There is no need to become too open with everybody, but it is essential to establish a relationship of mutual respect.

It is also important to understand that people of the same constitution are not the same. A Vata constitution will tend towards more anxiety, a Pitta constitution will be prone to anger and a Kapha will probably have to deal more with attachment. On the other hand, people can be of mixed constitutions fact which will create a specific profile in psychological terms. Even within the same constitution we will find various forms of manifestation of the doshas. Also, it is very important to understand that the more people are working on themselves, the more difficult will be to notice such trends.

It is said that we cannot change our constitution, but we get to move towards the more sattvique and balanced aspects of our nature. We cannot change the fact of being Vata, Pitta or Kapha, but we can move towards the more pure or sattvic aspects of our personality.
