The Vata psychology

A person with a Vata psychology is usually nervous, anxious, agitated or distracted. A Vata person will speak a lot, will make a lot of gestures, will tell many stories, and her speech will usually be chaotic. Vatas are quickly interested in everything that is new, but they will be the last to implement that respective change. The Vatas change their opinion easily, which is valid and valuable today, will no longer be valid tomorrow.

Their tendency toward anxiety makes them negative relative to their health and they have a lot of concerns about this. The Vatas will seek to be r eassured and comforted. Long conversations about their needs and worries are not beneficial, it will just give them more material for their ideas and their concerns. The best approach as a friend, relative or co-worker simply is to be firm and entrusted with them, and when they come to see us for advice, we should give them practical advices as they have the tendency to be too in the abstract. Also, we must not give them too many advices or suggestions.

The most difficult part with the Vata persons is that they seek too much support from the outside and they have hard time to take steps to take control of their life. The Vatas will often be in their universe, in their thoughts, and they will find it difficult to go down to practical things. This is why it is imperative to help them be more in the body, to be more in the sensations and in the real world because they are often cut off from this reality and their experience is pure mental. In other words, they should be directed towards more practical aspects of life than to be exposed to too much theory. Also, it is important to encourage them to do something with regularity and perseverance to balance out their tendency to do several things at once in a superficial way.

Transcending a Vata nature implies to move from being undecided, hyperactive, restless, distracted, nervous, talkative, superficial, to a being more flexible, adaptable, enthusiastic, with good communication, good healing energy, and able to initiate and follow through changes.
