The healing force is within ourselves..(CONTINUE)

UNothing comes from nothing, there's always a reason behind everything. A disease can not occur without a reason of the same nature. Ayurveda sees suffering, whether physical or emotional, as a direct consequence of our own actions; each individual is solely responsible for its present state. It becomes obvious that we have the power to undo what was done and that we have access to the get back to our natural state of balance and health. Ayurveda differs from other systems of medicine in the world precisely through the role that patient plays in the healing process. Ultimately, no person can be healed against her will, and each individual, by his own choice, may change his Karma and therefore his state of health.

Dr. Frawley says in one of those books that "nothing happens without being caused, deserved or produced by our own actions." According to this law of justice of nature, we are always experimenting forces that we have initiated ourselves. Sometimes the root of an illness or suffering is far in the past, even past lives. If we can understand the principle behind our suffering, the release of the negative effects of our past actions becomes possible.

We are permanently in the process of creating our future, of this life and of future lives, with every thought, every idea we have about ourselves, with each emotion that we develop and nurture inside ourselves, with the life style we are leading. A disease can be a karmic result from a past life, as in the case of a chronic illness, or it may simply be caused by our bad attitudes and habits of this life. By identifying the root of our suffering we can act and can therefore make changes to swing the trend which has generated the disease to re-establish a state of balance and harmony, which according to Ayurveda should be our state natural.

This definition of health creates within the person a deeper dimension. In fact, the Vedic texts make the distinction between ordinary health and the real state of health. Even with a diagnosis of health, it often happens that people do not feel alive or they feel bad, sad or confused. This happens when the mind is not healthy and psychosomatic conditions are affecting the health of the body. The level of mental agitation and aspiration are deeply spiritual connected. The real state of health is present when we feel healthy but in the same time we become aware of our divinity and we feel more and more connected to the source.

Ayurveda is not a passive form of treatment. It asks us to take an active role in treatment, because only the individual can influence, by his own choice, the law of cause and effect. The source of suffering of any kind is always linked to the Ego and the separation of our true spiritual nature. When own constitution (Prakriti) is balanced, it becomes then the source of our health. When it is imbalanced, it generates the disease. It is the Ego which will interfere with the law of nature. The state of health does not involve, as we have learned to think, complicated procedures, but rather a return to simplicity and innocence of our being.

All Yoga masters teach us the same message: the power is in us, the divinity is in us, we all have in us, dormant, all the powers in the world. The question we must ask ourselves is: how much suffering we need to ingest before we open to this reality? We do not have to believe in this theory, nor in those who have already tested it. Before rejecting it, we should experiment it in ourselves. One thing is for sure, we do not HAVE to go through suffering. We can start choosing as of now to live our live as a great mystery, as a source of joy, while we allow all events of our life to become a source of growth and inspiration, as a means to realize our connection with the Source.

During the coming holiday season let’s create and give ourselves permission to experience peace, love and true joy, believing with all our heart that we are divine and immortal and in a permanent connection the Universe.

Happy Holydays!
